Thestoryofthemovieissomewhatbasedontheplotofthemostrecentgame,SakuraWars3,releasedbackinMarchthisyear.WhilethegamefeaturesLieutenantOhgami,themaincharacterwhotakesoffforParis,narratesonesideofthestory,themovieunveilsthesecretsbehindHanagumi.OhgamileavesforParis,consequentlyleavingHanagumiwithoutaleader;thusanewcharacterwillbeintroducedhere.TobereplacedwithLieutenantOhgamiistheformerleaderofHoshigumi,RachetteArtile-arationalisticanddistinctindividual,whobringsaboutseriousproblemstoHanagumi.ThemembersarenowindiscordwithRachette.Meanwhile,TeikokuKagekidanwasbeingthreatenedbysomeirrelevantdemonsandanewtypeofanti-koumamechas,(broughtbyanamericancompany)appearsandtriestoreplacethekoubu-kai.HavingmaderepeatedmistakesduetotheabsenceofOhgami,Hanagumiisnowfacedwithanunprecedenteddanger,whiletheabolishmentofTeikokuKagekidanHanagumiisbeingschemed.
