讲述了1960年捷克卡罗维发利国际电影节最佳导演水晶球奖。OriginallytitledSeryozha,theRussianASummertoRememberwasco-adaptedbyVeraPanovafromherownshortstory.WarandPeacedirectorSergeiBondarchukplaysthenewstepfatherofyoungSeryozha(BoryaBarkhatov).Soclosedothestepfatherandtheboybecomeinthemonthsfollowingtheirmeetingthat,whentimecomesfortheboytomoveoninlife,herefusestoleavehisnewdadsside.TheirsummeridylltakesplaceonaSovietcollectivefarm,managedbyBondarchukanddepictedbynovicefilmmakersGeorgiyDaneliyaandIgorTalankininthemostglowingandapoliticalofterms.Thoughthereisntmuchtotheplot,thefilmadmirablysucceedsasasortofcinematictonepoem.FromAllMovieGuide:RussianfilmmakerGeorgiDaneliyaranksamonghiscountrysmostpopulardirectorsofsatiricalcomedies.TheGeorgia-bornDaneliyacomesfromadistinguishedfamilyoffilmperformers;hisgrandmother,VerikoAndzhaparidze,wasafamedGeorgiansilentfilmactress,hiscousin,SofikoChiaureli,isalsoamajoractress,andhismother,MeriAndzhaparidze,spentmorethanadecadeatMosfilmStudios.However,hefirstchosetotrainasanarchitect(perhapsoutofrespectforhisfather,anengineer).Followinghisgraduationin1955,Daneliyaworkedonlybrieflyinthatfieldwhenhedecidedhedratherbeinfilms,enrollinginMosfilmStudiosDirectorsCoursesin1958.In1960,Daneliyaco-directedSeryozha/ASummertoRememberwithIgorTalankin.Twoyearslater,hemadehissolodirectorialdebut,PutKPrichalu/TheWaytotheWharf(1962).His1969comedyNeGoryuy!/DontWorry!successfullyblendedhumorandmelancholy,adevicethatwouldbecomeDaneliyastrademark.Inadditiontodirecting,Daneliyaco-authorsthescriptsforhisfilmsandoccasionallyworksonscreenplaysforotherdirectors.Daneliyahaswonnumerousnationalandinternationalawardsforhiswork.In1964,hisYaShagayupoMoskve/IWalkAroundMoscowreceivedanhonorablementionattheCannesFilmFestival,whilein1975AfonyareceivedaspecialawardattheAllUnionFestival,amajorU.S.S.R.event.DaneliyasbiggesthitintheU.S.S.R.,Mimino(1977),earnedthespecialprizeattheMoscowInternationalFilmFestivalandtheU.S.S.R.StatePrize.In1991,DaneliyaearnedtheNikaAward(theRussianequivalenttoanOscar)forBestScreenplayforPasport(1990).
